Marsha Flemmings built a career in the hospitality and travel industry that spanned nineteen years. She and those around her couldn’t deny her passion to help and serve others in pursuing their purpose and attaining their goals. Over the course of her career she built a strong legacy in leadership.  Some of her accomplishments include averaging promotions every two years, leading her team to win top awards and multiple promotions. Her conviction to continue to help lead and inspire others, especially women, led to her pursuit of becoming a Coach and launching her own company. An Alum of Cornell University and University of Technology in Kingston, Jamaica she continues to equip herself to help others unlock their potential, move beyond limiting beliefs, experience the professional growth they desire and create legacy through leadership.  In her first book, Letters of Love & Legacy – A Mother’s Tale of Her Journey to Her Son, she uses her journey, the successes and missteps to help reinforce to anyone that they are able to design their legacy. As a speaker she has helped shift audiences beyond motivation and into action and has had the privilege of speaking to audiences of more than 5000 people. Through her online group coaching program she helps emerging women leaders identify their effective leadership style,  develop the skills needed to connect, assess and position their teams, so that they can position themselves to quickly move up in their chosen industry. Her work has been featured on networks such as ABC, NBC, FOX and CBS News.  She attributes much of her intentional approach to her experience of becoming a mother. Every decision she makes personally and professionally is anchored simply in the desire to create impact through service and being a living example, especially to her son, of living completely in the pursuit of purpose. She lives by the belief that our lives become our legacy so we need to live it intentionally.

Nicki Roth

Nicki Roth

Author, Leadership Consultant & Coach

My story begins in Detroit as a second generation American. My life has always been multi; cultural, lingual, academic, generational, professional. This broad exposure and life experience have influenced my world view and work life. These are the questions I am most passionate to answer: How does context influence individual and group behavior and what does it take to achieve our highest potential? My education at the University of Michigan prepared me to search for answers in multiple fields. I was a family therapist for half of my career before I moved into organizational and leadership development. Deciding that it was important for me to practice what I preached, I eventually took a position as a Human Resources executive, which was a very humbling experience. My focus in the past several years has been coaching, consulting and writing. Each role and organization allowed me to guide people to become self-aware, to understand how we are different and to build productive and meaningful connections. Whether it is a family, a team, a large corporation, a nonprofit, a professional association or government agency, we need to show up as our best selves and be respectful and honest brokers with our colleagues. This is at the heart of all my work. Along the way, I developed some specific interests that are the subjects of my books and blogs. Adults who survived childhood incest, women and minority leaders, meaningful and long-term diversity and inclusion in organizations, executive teams, career development for people who are outside the norm, productive teams, self-awareness for leaders, nonprofit organizations. When I’m not working, I’m spending time with my loved ones, listening to jazz, fantasizing about dancing with the Alvin Ailey troupe, cooking up a storm, traveling or reading.

Unique Walker

Unique Walker

Entrepreneur & Coach

Unique Walker is a native of Washington D.C. She was raised by an aunt in Fort Washington, MD, after both her parents died within five months of each other when Unique was eleven. A natural leader, Unique headed several organizations in high school, and, upon graduation, decided she wanted to work for herself. Despite her grandmother telling her to get a “good government job” like everybody else, Unique chose entrepreneurship, starting her first business right after high school. Entrepreneurship came easily to Unique, and, eventually, she owned several brick and mortar businesses and enjoyed the life of material comfort that she’d always dreamed about.

However, everything changed in 2012 when Unique’s husband went to prison. “We lost everything,” Unique recalls. “This was my rock bottom moment.”

But rock bottom, for Unique, was nothing more than a foundation on which she rebuilt her life, this time centered around comfort and not excess.

“I knew I wanted to be home with my children, because their father was already away,” Unique says. “That’s when I discovered the Internet as the undefeated source of income for someone with the entrepreneurial mindset.” Unique traded her expensive clothes and handbags for yoga pants and flip flops, and started making and selling her Bibles over Bags t-shirts. Very quickly, the shirts went viral, getting the attention of several celebrities, including Michelle Williams (Destiny’s Child), CoCo (SWV), Erica Campbell (Mary Mary), and Tamika “Tiny” Harris (Xscape). The shirts were featured on VH1, BET, OWN, and Oxygen. Despite this success, however, Unique stopped focused on selling and began focusing on service.

First, TSU (T-Shirt University) was established, an online class in which Unique taught women all over the world to start t-shirt businesses of their own. Her students are located in the United Kingdom, South Africa, Australia, and France, among other places. Now, her focus is on helping women to Share their Blueprints, teaching them the value of their intellectual property and how to make money by sharing what they already know.

“I know what it takes to be successful, because I’ve lost everything,” Unique says. The trials in her life have taught her that family is more important than material possessions and that living in comfort is better than living in excess. Through her online communities and coaching, she is changing the lives of women all across the globe. Unique recently launched another business Pink Pressure Wash.

Unique is a coach, a lifelong entrepreneur, leader and mother of 2 amazing boys, ages 13 and 21.
